Today, the City of New Orleans Office of Resilience & Sustainability published the benchmarking Covered Property List (CPL) containing all properties expected to comply with the New Orleans Building Energy Benchmarking Ordinance. The publication of the CPL marks a major step in implementing the Building Energy Benchmarking Ordinance (Ordinance No. 35,154), which requires large properties over 20,000 square feet to track and report their annual energy use.

The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission is reminding families that the Kid Cafe after school meal program remains available at recreation centers across the city, providing free, nutritious meals to youth ages 18 and under.

The Orleans Parish Registrar of Voters reminds voters interested in early voting of available free parking at all locations, including City Hall. Early Voting will occur Saturday, Nov. 1, to Saturday, Nov. 8, except for Sunday, Nov. 2. The Registrar’s Office has designated free one-our parking at the City Hall location in the 400 and 500 blocks of La Salle Street, as well as the 1300 block of Perdido Street. Time limits will be enforced.
The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission proudly announces this week’s Athlete of the Week, continuing its celebration of exceptional youth athletes competing in NORD youth and local middle school leagues.
The City of New Orleans announced that beginning Monday, Nov. 3, the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Barriere Construction Company, will temporarily execute a road closure to vehicular traffic for approximately 3 days to accommodate utility construction at the Warrington Drive and Allen Toussaint Boulevard intersection. This road closure is necessary to complete essential waterline installation for the 1800 block of Allen Toussaint Boulevard in accordance with the RR405 NOFOG Project.

The City of New Orleans and Family Center of Hope today announced that The Anchor – New Orleans Youth Assessment Center Open House and Fall Festival will take place on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Family Center of Hope, located at 4137 Washington Avenue. The Open House and Fall Festival is free and open to the public.

The City of New Orleans Mosquito, Termite and Rodent Control Board (NOMTRCB) reports that additional mosquito pools collected from the East Bank of Orleans Parish this week have tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). WNV cycles between wild birds and mosquitoes and can be transmitted to humans and animals by the bite of an infected mosquito. These positive samples indicate that WNV is actively circulating among local mosquitoes and bird populations.
