On Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:33 a.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to a 911 call to home at 2003 Dumaine Street. The first company arrived on the scene at 10:38 a.m., reporting smoke and fire coming from the rear of the home extending to the attic.

On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 9:38 a.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) responded to a call reporting a building fire at the corner of S. Telemachus St. and Palmyra St. NOFD firefighters arrived on the scene of 3705 Palmyra St/ 235 S. Telecachus St., a large two-story, multi-unit unoccupied dwelling, at 9:42 a.m.
New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) Operator Dwayne J. Jackson passed away in a tragic accident on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Funeral services for Operator Jackson, are set for Friday, March 28, 2025, at Gentilly Baptist Church, 5141 Franklin Ave., New Orleans, LA 70122.
On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 3:55 p.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to 1217 Franklin Ave. Upon arrival, firefighters found an active/working fire in a single-story vehicle repair shop.

Today the City of New Orleans and the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) held a promotion ceremony for NOFD Recruit Class R-02-24 and one member being promoted to the position of Fire Captain. Recruit Class R-02-24 consisted of twenty-nine New Orleans Fire Department recruits and one Orleans Parish Communications (OPCD) dispatcher, who endured a twenty-two-week training regimen focusing on all aspects of firefighting.
On Friday, March 21, 2025, at 8:44 the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to a reported residential fire in the 4800 block of St. Claude Ave. NOFD Fire Operations personnel arrived at scene of 4807 St. Claude Ave., a large two-story, wood framed, single-family dwelling, at 8:50 a.m., finding the upstairs rear of the home already heavily involved in flames.

The owner of the three dogs originally presumed perished in yesterday’s two-alarm fire in the 1000 block of Charbonnet St., has confirmed to New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) personnel that two of his dogs were found alive beneath the remains of the collapsed dwelling at 1028-30 Charbonnet St.

On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 4:19 p.m., the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to a reported fire in the 1000 block of Charbonnet St. in the Lower Ninth Ward. The first NOFD company arrived on the scene 1024 Charbonnet St. at 4:24 p.m., finding the single-family dwelling almost completely involved in flames.
