HIstorically, the Downtown Development District was required to submit a plan to the City Planning Commission specifying the public improvements, facilities and services proposed to be furnished, constructed or acquired for the District. In 2024, the Louisiana Legislature amended Louisiana Revised Statute 33:2740.3 (Act 520) removing the requirement for the DDD to present its annual budget and work plan to the City Planning Commission.
