The Department of Public Works (DPW) continues to advance major infrastructure improvements citywide, with active construction underway on roadway, sidewalk, drainage, and alleyway projects across multiple neighborhoods. Recent progress includes paving and patching through the DPW771 and DPW772 roadway programs, concrete restoration in key corridors under DPW775, and ongoing reconstruction across FEMA-funded projects in Lakeview, Lake Terrace & Oaks, the Lower Ninth Ward, Desire, Audubon, and St. Anthony. Sidewalk improvement programs (DPW782–785) and alleyway reconstruction efforts are also moving forward, enhancing pedestrian access and neighborhood connectivity. These investments strengthen safety, mobility, and resilience for residents throughout New Orleans.
The Department of Public Works (DPW) continues to strengthen community partnerships through ongoing civic engagement and neighborhood outreach. Throughout October and November, DPW staff met with residents across the city to share project updates, gather feedback, and address infrastructure priorities at meetings and events in multiple districts. These efforts support DPW’s commitment to transparency, collaboration, and improving streets and sidewalks citywide.
The Department of Public Works (DPW) is advancing key mobility and safety projects across New Orleans, including activating the new Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon on Broad Street at the Lafitte Greenway. The Broad Street Pedestrian Improvement Project is now in its final inspection phase, with a ribbon-cutting set for November 20, 2025. DPW is also preparing for construction on the $23.6 million Morrison Road (Mayo–Bullard) improvement project and is collecting contact information from corridor residents and businesses ahead of a community meeting.
