TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lane Closure on Metairie Road Overpass for Streetlight Repairs

The City of New Orleans today announced that starting Wednesday, July 17 at approximately 9 a.m., the Department of Public Works (DPW), in close coordination with the Louisiana Department of Transportation (LaDOTD), will close the eastbound right lane along the stretch of the Metairie Road Overpass between the Lake Lawn entrance and Hollygrove Street. This closure will include the Exit 232.

Emergency Cooling Centers Remain Available for Residents to Stay Cool Amid Excessive Heat

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the New Orleans area is experiencing dangerously high temperatures into this week. A combination of heat and humidity could lead to daytime high heat index values, or “feels like” temperatures, of 103 to 112 degrees between Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19.

City of New Orleans Announces September ARPA Information Sessions

ARPA Information Sessions will now be held quarterly at libraries throughout the City of New Orleans.  The third quarter session will be held in September. The same content will be provided at each meeting which will focus on an overview of ARPA, updates on the City of New Orleans ARPA funded projects portfolio of over one hundred projects throughout the City,  a question-and-answer session, and an opportunity to meet the ARPA Project Management Office.
