January 13, 2025 | From City of New Orleans
The City of New Orleans today announced that it has officially obligated the full $388 million of its American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, a significant milestone that will support critical projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure, improving residents’ quality of life, and fostering long-term resilience. Residents can follow the progress of these investments through the City’s ARPA dashboard at www.nola.gov/arpa.
Today, January 13, 2025, the NOPD arrested a third suspect in the fatal shooting of a store employee which occurred during a robbery attempt on December 31, 2024.
Today (January 13, 2025), the NOPD released its 2024 crime statistics, compiling and comparing data on overall crime in the city of New Orleans, calls for service and response times, domestic violence incidents and Special Victims Division information.
The NOPD has arrested a suspect in the January 7, 2025 homicide that occurred at North Galvez Street and Elysian Fields Avenue that claimed the life of a 38-year-old man.

The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) today announced that beginning on Sunday, Jan. 12, and lasting approximately 10 days, portions of O’Keefe Avenue will be temporarily converted to two-way traffic to accommodate local traffic only. This adjustment is necessary while the intersection of Lafayette Street and O’Keefe Avenue remains closed for public safety due to concerns associated with the collapse of a building's exterior brick wall.
The City of New Orleans today announced that in the wake of the devastating mass casualty incident on New Years Day, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is stepping up to support the recovery of Orleans Parish and the surrounding parishes of Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and St. Tammany.
