Central Business District Historic Landmarks Commission
The Central Business District Historic District Landmarks Commission:
Promotes Central Business District historic districts and landmarks for the educational, cultural, economic, and general welfare of the public, especially the residents of New Orleans;
Assists in preserving, protecting, and regulating buildings, sites, monuments, structures, and districts of historic interest or importance within the Central Business District of New Orleans;
Assists in preserving and enhancing the environmental quality of the Central Business District;
Establishes and improves property values through support of preservation activities; and
Fosters economic development and encourages balanced growth.
The Mayor appoints eleven members subject to the approval of the City Council.
