Purpose
The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission:
- Plans, supervises, and conducts a comprehensive and coordinated program of cultural and physical recreation;
- Promotes cooperative planning with public and private entities concerned with recreation; and
- Manages, maintains, and operates recreational facilities owned and operated by the city.
Composition
Thirteen members.
- The Mayor;
- Chief Administrative Officer;

Orleans Parish School Board Representative;

City Planning Commission Representative;

Chair of the New Orleans Recreation Development Foundation; and
- The Mayor appoints five members who are domiciled in different districts in the City with approval of the City Council.
